Hired Gun Video lithium ion battery FAQS

These batteries are the best professional camera battery we have ever run across! They are built to last with
a rugged shock resistant shell and quality LG battery or Sanyo cells (not no name cells like some cheaper
batteries, which can be dangerous). A really great feature about them is the BUILT IN D TAP for an extra
light, LCD monitor or other 12 volt accessory and the built in LED power meter. The batteries will also
accept a portable travel charger (sold separately). The travel charger port on the battery can also supply 12V
power (center pin NEGATIVE).They also have circuitry to protect from temperature extremes and over
voltage. These same batteries are also marketed under different brand names and have been in the field for
years.

Pay attention to the watt hour (“wh”) of the battery! More watt hours equals a longer run time!
Most are offering 85wh or less! Some aren’t even listing the “wh” rating! The Sony BP-L40 is only
40wh!! Hired Gun Video offers a 90wh and 150wh Lithium-ion battery and we're selling for less
than anyone!

NOTE!
These batteries can only be recharged with chargers designed for lithium ion batteries.
AB mount batteries CAN NOT be recharged on Anton Bauer brand chargers.

V mount battery

Hired Gun Video lithium ion V mount batteries will interchange with any video product using Sony V mount
style batteries. This battery is safe to recharge on most V mount lithium ion battery chargers including Sony
brand, IDX, Varizoom and others. Be sure it is a lithium ion capable charger before recharging otherwise
damage will occur to the battery, charger or both.

Red compatible battery

Hired Gun Video lithium ion Red camera compatible battery will interchange with the OEM Red battery and
accessories. Communicates with the camera just as the original RED battery does. It will also work well on
most other cameras requiring a v mount battery. It may have compatibility issues with some IDX brand battery
chargers.

AB mount battery

Hired Gun Video lithium ion AB mount batteries will interchange with any video product using an Anton Bauer
gold mount style battery EXCEPT Anton Bauer brand chargers. Recharging on an Anton Bauer brand
charger will cause damage to the battery, charger or both.

Why Lithium ion?

Lithium ion batteries offer a higher energy density than NiMH. This allows a lithium ion battery to operate at a
higher voltage while maintaining a lighter weight and smaller overall size compared to a NiMH battery. They
also self discharge at a slower rate compared to NiMH batteries. Once they are charged they will retain their
charge for a longer time. Lithium-ion batteries will retain most of their charge even after months of storage
(under recommended conditions). NiMH can lose about 1-5% of their charge per day. They also have no
memory effect. Unlike NiMH batteries you can recharge Lithium ion batteries at any state of remaining charge
with out the need to discharge or "refresh" the battery. This means less battery down time!

NP 1 Battery

Hired Gun Video lithium ion NP 1 batteries will interchange with any video product using NP 1 batteries. It
has a 4 LED power meter and has a 2 way power port/charger port at the bottom. The port will accept the
Hired Gun Video single charger or it can be used as a power outlet with the correct plug (center pin
NEGATIVE). It can only be recharged on chargers designed for lithium ion batteries. Recharging on any
charger NOT designed to recharge a lithium ion battery will result in damage to the battery, charger or both. It
may have compaatibility issues with some IDX brand battery chargers.
